Received a few requests for the Sambara Pito recipe after sharing the Bhende Sukke recipe. Sharing my mother-in-law’s homemade Sambara Pito recipe. You can add this powder to any vegetable recipe (also khube/cockles/clams & squids!) mixed with grated coconut & crushed garlic.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp ukda brown rice ( boiled brown rice)
- 25 gms Red dry chillies ( Madras + Bedki + Kashmiri)
- Little less than 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
Instructions
- Dry roast items 1-5 separately and allow it to cool.
- Once cooled add turmeric powder & grind it to a coarse powder
