Chikoo is also known as Sapodilla, Zapote or Naseberry. This fruit is a family favourite fruit of ours. It is not only sweet and delicious but also nutritious and healthy. Chikoo is rich in fiber, calcium, iron, phosphorus, antioxidants, vitamin A, C and E. This makes it a great for immunity, bones, digestion and as an anti-inflammatory agent.
This milkshake has all the benefits of chikoo fruit and the added dried fruits. It can easily be adapted into a vegan-friendly recipe by substituting milk with almond/soy/cashew milk.
Ingredients
- 300 grams or 5 small chikoos
- 1 banana
- 2 cups cold milk
- 2 walnuts
- 4 dates (pitted)
- 6 almonds (soaked and peeled)
- sliced almonds for garnishing
Instructions
- Wash, wipe, peel and cut the chikoo into half. Remove seeds and cut into four pieces
- In a blender, add the chikoos, banana, walnuts, dates, almonds, milk and blend until it is smooth
- Garnish with sliced almonds and serve chilled
Notes
Milk can be substituted with almond milk, soy milk or cashew milk for a vegan/dairy-free option.
