Masala Fried Sannas (Idlis)

Ingredients

  • 10 Sannas (Idlis) Refrigerated
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or regular cooking oil
  • 1/2 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 tsp MTR Idli/Dosa/Chilly Chutney Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, add mustard. When it starts to sputter add cumin, asafoetida & curry leaves
  2. Add onions & fry until translucent
  3. Lower the flame add Kashmiri chilly powder, turmeric & green chillies & fry for 30 seconds
  4. Add chutney powder & fry for 30 seconds
  5. Add 1/4 cup hot water & stir to mix well
  6. Add Idlis directly from fridge & coat them well with masala, cover and cook for 1 minute on medium flame.
  7. Remove the cover and fry the Idlis until water has completely dried
  8. Remove from flame
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves
